Answer to Withdrawal Problem

Hi all,

As we have all experienced, in the past few days we have been withdrawing ETH tokens from this exchange to somewhere else, and it seems like they disappear in thin air even though it says 'Completed'. When we type the TX ID into ethplorer or etherscan we get the message 'Transaction Not Found'.

The good news is that this is not just solely Cryptopia. Looking at the comments on an etherscan post we see that it is also happening on at least CEXIO, Bitstamp, Binance, Bittrex and idex.market as well.

The second good news is that from the comments, it seems the transactions will show up after around 24-30 hours. Even though I don't understand how the transaction doesn't show up in at least the list of pending transactions, it seems like it is legitimately not showing up, and it will eventually show up. Maybe there is also a backlog of transactions before they even get to be on the pending transaction list.

Update 1: From the posts, it looks like transaction time is ~50 hours at the moment (as of 7/12/17)

Update 2: Check your wallets. The TX ID may never show up on etherscan, as it appears that when the transaction finally reaches your wallet, it is associated with a new TX ID.

Update 3: Cryptopia has disabled ERC20 token wallets for now until the backlog clears.

-------------------------------------------------

Below is a table with forum usernames and transaction times:

Date Sent Username Transaction Time

Quitte disappointed in the support crew. They just tell you the network is busy and close the ticket. And when the cue is empty, to look again. This can't be the case! So if this cue stays full for the upcoming weeks, you will be waiting and waiting and waiting..... I'll open my 3th ticket if this isn't fixed within a couple of hours.

The excuse that the Ethereum network is congested is false. As of now the Ether mempool shows that the oldest unprocessed transaction is less than 2h old.

Cryptopia's CoinInfo page shows that the Ethereum wallet is OK and its block height is up to date - meaning that the Cryptopia side is in full sync with the Ether blockchain.

With your Withdrawal transactions not even on the blockchain's mempool waiting to be processed and Cryptopia's wallet being in full synch - that means your withdrawal requests were done on a fork or not at all.

Deposits made during the so called "Maintenance" where Cryptopia closed Ethereum's wallet for "investigation" are also not credited to the Cryptopia account, despite them txs being long processed on the blockchain with hundreds of confirmations already.

Any excuse that the Kittens caused Ethereum network congestion may have worked 24 hours ago, but stand valid no more. The Ether network works just fine at the moment and if you try sending Ethereum from one wallet to another it will work like a charm in less than 2 minutes (so long you don't use Cryptopia for that).

There is another problem which Cryptopia is not reporting on their News page.

Same I said. Problem is Cryptopia doesn't even answer on tickets, email or this forum.

the same problems waiting from 4th december my POWR tokens, about 2 days right now

Status TransactionId
Complete 0xdc9b6990a05f1ea8fbc0bdc480fc0a473fca1d8a4d779aef175bf49dc6d3c0fe

If there some problem with network backlog or where is problem with traffic why Cryptopia didn't alert costomers do not do any transaction and wait....

Very bad service and it is a dark area  if nobody can not have a control.
